... One of the characters in the film is a news photographer named Paparazzo (played by Walter Santesso). In his book Word and Phrase Origins, author Robert Hendrickson writes that Fellini took the name paparazzi from an IItalian dialect word for a particularly noisy, buzzing mosquito.
... it is the paparazzi who "make" people celebrities, but very often, the celebrities attempt to act as if they hate and fear the paparazzi.
...Paparazzi author Peter Howe told Time that "celebrities need a higher level of exposure than the rest of us so it is a two-way street. The celebrities manipulate."
(In Media's Eye, Young Mayor Says He's Learning)。
(With about 312,000 residents, Pittsburgh is suffering from a shrinking population and is also more than $1 billion in debt) 27歳の市長はChicago やNew York を訪れて経験者の教えを受けています。
Mr. Ravenstahl has also looked to his elders for pointers. A day spent with Mayor Richard M. Daley in January in Chicago, he said, impressed upon him the power a mayor can wield. In a visit from Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg of New York two weeks ago, Mr. Ravenstahl asked him how he dealt with aggressive reporters.

電話回線を独占していたNTTが政府の指導でこの回線をISP(Internet Service Provider)に開放しYahoo! (Japan Leads U.S. in Fast and Cheap Internet Connections, Japan's Warp-Spped Ride to Internet Future)。
...NTT is becoming dominant again in the fiber broadband kingdom.
That infuriates its competitors. Yahoo BB and others are demanding that the government once again compel NTT to unlock the lines.
“While you might not want to replicate the same pathway as other countries, we are falling seriously behind,” said Charles H. Ferguson, author of “The Broadband Problem.”
Mr. Ferguson said the substandard American broadband infrastructure shaved as much as 1 percent off the nation’s potential productivity growth. Faster broadband services would allow telecommuters to use better videoconferencing equipment and more easily share multimedia documents, he said.
said Vinton G. Cerf, a vice president at Google.
Japan's lead in speed is worrisome because it will shift Internet innovation away from the United States, warns Vinton G. Cerf, a vice president at Google, who is widely credited with helping to invent some of the Internet's basic architecture. "Once you have very high speeds, I guarantee that people will figure out things to do with it that they haven't done before," he said.
