Camera を持って有名人を追っかける軍団 paparazzi は10年前英国のPrincess Dianaの交通事故死ですっかり有名になりました。Paparazziはもともとはイタリア語のpaparazzo (五月蝿うるさい虫)の複数形からきていますが、この言葉はFederico Fellini の映画『甘い生活』(La dolce vita 1960年作)が大元になっています。

電話回線を独占していたNTTが政府の指導でこの回線をISP(Internet Service Provider)に開放しYahoo! BBがADSL事業に参入以来 日本のInternet は世界水準に近づきました。今気がついてみれば光通信(fiber broadband)では世界最高水準を達成したそうです(Japan Leads U.S. in Fast and Cheap Internet Connections, Japan's Warp-Spped Ride to Internet Future)。
Fiber broadband はまたNTTがこの最速回線を独占しており行政指導でこの回線を他の業者に開放するようになるでしょう。何しろNTTは国からの援助を受けていますから、この回線を開放するのは当然です。
